The Fiction From the Heartland Contest is for any writer, unpublished (traditionally or self-published) in book-length romance fiction of 40K words or more in the past five years AND uncontracted in book-length fiction
Entry Fee

Deadlines
Entries and payments are due no later than 11:59 pm CT on October 1, 2022.
First Round / Critique Judges
Entries will be judged by two experienced judges, one of which will be a published author. Each entrant will receive a one-page, written critique and a detailed score sheet from each judge.
Finalist Judges
Finalists will be judged by an industry editor AND agent.
The finalist judges for this contest are still being finalized and will be announced on this page and the MARA social media accounts as soon as they are complete.
Please note: MARA reserves the right to make changes to this list as needed. These agents and editors will read and judge the entries that final in the Fiction from the Heartland Contest.
